Perception should be historically fluxed. Records of perception have thus transformed into a readily transferred manipulated digital state—books, newspaper, magazines, movies, music. I take the antiquated object to create my totemic sculptures. They were originally manufactured in multiples. The selection of the objects have been selectively culled with regard to my criterion: several hands have touched these objects; they are familiar; the objects have both pleasure and shame associated with them. They must work on slightly larger than human scale.
